| Mommy & Me Baby Book Bags The bright yellow "Mommy & Me Baby Book Bag" has become a signature program for the Literacy Council. Through the program, we aim to prevent the cycle of intergenerational illiteracy through early intervention. Bags are filled with literature on the importance of reading to babies from birth, as well as a free book and other child development information. Bags are then distributed to new mothers at the Washington Hospital. Nearly 18,000 Baby Book Bags have been distributed to mothers and their children. |
